Akhenic Worship

Akhenios
The one god, God of the sun

High Priest: Alcaeus Tawfeek (mortal)
Devata: A dragon by the name of Amaharu (deceased). Associated with the ram and the hawk.
Symbol: A sun inside a diamond.
Religious Organizations: The Onyx Swords, the Akhenic Priesthood.
Sects: The Sanctified Suns, Royalists.

The High Priest of Akhenios oversees the Akhenic Temple in Madiar. Pedhani Priests make up the Priest-Consul, 19 men and women who consult the High Priest on matters of theology. Below them are the Kujaree Priests who run the day-to-day matters of the temple (both in Madiar and other cities). Assisting them are the Ruhin priests and acolytes. All initiates to the Akhenic Temple start as acolytes, then may pursue priesthood or become Onyx Sword Temple Guards. Onyx Swords are the Protectors of the Faith, guards who ensure the safety of the priesthood and the temples. In small villages, Onyx Swords may be the only guards present year round to help keep the Shah’s laws.
